It's not normal to have pale yellow stools. It indicates that there is no bile getting to the stool. Since this has been going on for five days it wouldn't take much more for me to make sure you are seeing a physician and having this evaluated. Especially if there are any other symptoms such as vomiting or abdominal pain or tenderness.
