    It depends how badly it was injured.It could be 10 days to 3 months READ MORE

  • What treatments are available for a heel spur?

    There are 2 types of heel spurs, one being plantar and the second is posterior. It is present frequently in adults and not always painful. When painful I start my patients with stretching, insoles to support the arch as well as an anti inflammatory, topically or orally. I also recommend Laser Therapy or a steroid injection, and occasionally utilize Physical Therapy. I will also recommend Nutritional supplements to reduce inflammation and help the body's repair system. If these conservative methods do not alleviate the pain I utilize Stem Cell therapy. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to walk after heel fracture surgery?

    It depends on the type of heel Fracture. I varies Depending on type of correction needed. 6 to 8 weeks would be the Norm for my patients. But physical Therapy can and should be started as soon as possible after correcti0n. READ MORE

  • Will I get braces after ankle surgery?

    In my practice, the answer is yes, Initially I place your ankle in a splint, then graduate to a Cam Walker and then into a Brace around 6 to 8 weeks after surgery and keep you in it for approx. 3 months. READ MORE

  • How long after ankle surgery can I swim?

    It depends on what type of surgery you Have. With arthroscopic it could be a few days, and with open surgery it could be up to 6 weeks READ MORE

  • Do you need surgery for a hammertoe?

    If it is not painful or causing any issues, there is no reason to hurry into surgery. If you find its progressing then I would recommend further evaluation which could include correction. READ MORE

  • How long does an ankle ligament injury take to heal?

    Usually 12 weeks before normal activities and 6 months before competitive sports. READ MORE

  • Swelling in feet and ankles

    What is your age, How is your blood pressure? Your weight may also play an important part in your swelling. Is there any heart disease, varicose veins, Lymphedema There are many factors that may be involved. I do recommend Knee high compression hose or socks, and if you have not seen a Cardiologist I would as soon as possible if swelling remains. I am always happy to evaluate and treat or refer out if the cause is from Vascular system. READ MORE

  • Infected area under foot - wart?

    Many times plantar warts do not respond well to Salicylic acid on plantar aspect of the feet and palms of hands because the skin is thick. If it still has not resolved I would recommend seeing myself or one of my local colleagues. Tagamet Orally as well as Zinc have been quite helpful in my practice in helping warts resolve. READ MORE

  • When can I walk after ankle dislocation?

    it depends on how Much soft tissue damage you have associated with this injury Was surgery needed to relocate the injury, was any imaging performed to determine ligaments and tendons.. I would use caution and use a cam walker and crutches. As early as a couple of weeks and as long as 2 months. READ MORE

    Yes, Heel pain and injuries are common in my practice. READ MORE

  • How can I know if the ankle injury is serious?

    Pain, Bruising edema are all sign we utilize to evaluate ankle injuries. We also palpate where the painful areas are located. Radiographs are recommended and I also utilize Diagnostic Ultrasound with my exam which will show extent of Soft tissue damage. READ MORE

  • How long does ankle surgery take?

    It truly depends on the injury. It could be as simple as an ankle scope and be 20 min to and hourish, And if a more complex injury could take upwards of 60 to 90 min. If it is a complex injury that may need reconstructive surgery it could take longer. READ MORE

  • How can I fix my heel pain?

    I recommend stretching calf and arch, icing your heel daily and getting into a good supportive OTC arch support and add an anti-inflammatory and if it isn't resolving a night splint or Strasberg sock can be beneficial. If no improvement its time to see your local foot doc. READ MORE

  • Can a heel spur pain go away on its own?

    Yes, but it takes much longer than with treatment READ MORE

  • How should I sleep with ankle pain?

    Generally, I will have my patients ice before going to bed, then if possible elevate a little and no or light sheet or blanket so your ankle is not twisted or turned while sleeping READ MORE

  • Can a doctor do anything for a broken toe?

    Yes, the majority do not need to be fixed READ MORE

  • Is walking good for ankle pain?

    It truly depends on your actual diagnosis. If it seems to be mild and improves with walking its probably ok. My recommendation would be to see a Foot and Ankle Doc. and then treat appropriately READ MORE

  • Is ankle ligament surgery painful?

    Not significant, usually Mild to Moderate pain a few have almost no pain and a few more do. We usually have a Popliteal Block which gives almost 24 hours of relief before it wears off and then traditional pain meds if needed. READ MORE
