Get to know Family Physician Dr. Joy K. Ruff, who serves patients in Johnstown, Colorado.

Being a board-certified family physician, Dr. Ruff specializes in comprehensive health care for patients of all ages, children to elderly. She is in practice with Family Physicians of Greeley, PLLP and sees patients at the office in Johnstown, Colorado. 

With special interests in obstetrics, prenatal and point of care ultrasound, pediatrics, and women’s health, she has completed advanced training in cesarean sections, tubal ligation, and women’s health procedures. She has also attained board certification in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Following the completion of her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in 2003, Dr. Ruff went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2012. This was followed by a fellowship in family medicine at In His Image in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

To date, the doctor remains a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Family Practice, the Colorado Association of Family Practice, the Alabama Association of Family Practice, the Oklahoma Association of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

Among her philanthropic endeavours, Dr. Ruff is a supporter of Good Samaritans Health Services, which is a resident-run free mobile clinic dedicated to serving the uninsured/underinsured population in Tulsa.

In her personal life, Dr. Ruff is married with four children. She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including biking, hiking, skiing and camping, as well as going to church and spending time with family and friends.
