Having more than 26 years of experience in his field, Dr. Rodriguez currently practices as a General Surgeon with Bayamón Medical Plaza in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree in 1993 from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Zapopan, Mexico. Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr. Rodriguez went on to complete his residency in General Surgery at the Dr. Ramon E. Betances Hospital-Mayaguez Medical Center Branch in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He is licensed to practice medicine by the state board in Puerto Rico. General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.
