Get to know Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Cristina Markeiwicz, who serves the Agoura Hills, California area at her private practice, Integrative Dental Arts. Dr. Markiewicz is a lifelong resident of the area. She grew up in Camarillo and went to high school in Thousand Oaks. She received her degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Departmental Honors as well as her Masters in Business Administration from California Lutheran University. She obtained her doctorate in dental surgery from University of the Pacific Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Currently, she serves patients at her private practice, Integrative Dental Arts and works on staff with the team at Tenggren Dental in Simi Valley. She brings her knowledge and passion for the field to both positions and aims to combine art and science to improve confidence and self-esteem in her patients. Throughout her career, she has received many awards and accolades, including the Dugoni Service Award, the Quintessence Periodontics Award, and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce Forty Under 40. Dr. Markiewicz is a regular volunteer with the California Dental Association CDA Cares Events where thousands of underserved receive much needed dental care. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry as well as the Westlake Junior Woman’s Club, all of which allow her to stay up-to-date on developments in the field. Cosmetic dentistry is dentistry aimed at creating a positive change to the teeth and smile. Most think of tooth whitening or porcelain veneers, but a skilled, experienced cosmetic dentist can provide much more. They can help improve the appearance of a patient’s smile, and even their self-esteem and confidence. Today, cosmetic dentistry continues to evolve to where cosmetic dentists can address functional and aesthetic patient concerns. Dr. Markiewicz has a passion for helping others and has worked to benefit many local and global philanthropic organizations. She started the first American Cancer Society Relay For Life at California Lutheran University and has continued to support their organization by volunteering for many of their events. Dr. Markiewicz has helped the homeless population by working with the San Francisco Department of Health to organize University of the Pacific’s clinical component to treat their oral surgery needs at the Project Homeless Connect events. When she is not assisting patients or volunteering, Dr. Markiewicz enjoys cooking Italian, baking cupcakes, and spending time with family and friends.
