Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. David K. Galos, who serves patients in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Galos is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Temple Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine within Temple University Hospital – Main Campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His clinical interests include orthopaedic trauma, polytrauma, pelvic/acetabular fractures, long bone fractures, nonunion/malunion, post-traumatic reconstruction, periarticular fractures, rib fractures and thoracic trauma, and joint replacement surgery.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.

A graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Galos went on to perform his residency in orthopaedic surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. This was followed by a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

Advancing his efforts, Dr. Galos’ research interests include pelvic/acetabular fractures and outcomes, long bone fracture fixation and outcomes, periarticular fracture fixation and outcomes, rib fracture fixation and outcomes, and biomechanical studies of fracture fixation.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), he is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the Chest Wall Injury Society.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
