Why does my infected tooth hurt more when I lay down?
When you lie down there is increased blood flow to you head. This increased blood flow increases the pressure in the area of your infected tooth. I would recommend to rest sitting up in a chair. See your dental provider. Get started on antibiotics as soon as possible. Put and ice pack on the outside of your face in that area. If, the ice aggravates the area, try warm moist compresses on the outside of the face. The increased blood flow to the area will help the body get it's own defenses to the area. READ MORE

How long will jaw hurt after tooth extraction?
It depends on what type of extraction was required to remove your tooth. Generally speaking the most discomfort happens within the first 3 days following an extraction. Take Ibuprofen or Alleve if you are able to take those medications. And rinse your mouth with warm salt water rinses 3 to 5 times a day for a week. READ MORE
Is getting a dental bridge painful?
It should NOT be painful. Local anesthetic will be used to prepare the teeth and to take your impression and make your temporary "bridge." It may be sore when the anesthetic wears off. If you are able to take ibuprofen or Alleve, they should help. READ MORE

That depends on what you and your dental provider have discussed. You do not need to be asleep to have your wisdom teeth removed. Personally speaking, I just had local anesthetic and nitrous oxide when I had all 4 of mine removed. READ MORE

Can I have more than one root canal in a day?
Root canals generallyt are NOT painful. So, from a technical stanpoint you could have more than 1 root canal procedure completed in a day. You may not want to do all 3 it depends on location of the teeth that need treatment. You may have to be "numb" in different areas of your mouth and some patients do not like that. You will also be required to keep your mouth open for a long period of time and that may result in sore jaw joints. READ MORE
How long do porcelain crowns last?
That is a relative question. It depends on how well the crown was done and how well you take care of it. A crown needs to be taken care of 2X as much as a natural tooth. Meticulous brushing, flossing, use of water pik. Generally speaking a well done crown should last a minimum of 5 years and you really should get 10 plus years of service out of that crown. READ MORE
How do you stop gum pain from gingivitis?
See your dental provider. Then carefully brush and floss your teeth. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water rinses (8 oz cup of warm water and 1/4 tsp of salt). Rinse for 30 seconds and expectorate. You should do this at least 3 times a day for the next 7 days. Take Ibuprofen or Aleve if you are able to take these medications. READ MORE

You may eat immediately. I do recommend not eating anything very hard or sticky for the first 24 hours to allow the bonding or cement to complete all of its reactions and obtain its final hardness. READ MORE
