After that, he went to England and was trained through the Royal College of Psychiatrists and also obtained a Psych.D in Psychiatry and Mental Health from University of KEELE. He migrated to the United States and completed his fellowship training in psychodynamic psychiatry at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. In 2010, he completed his residency in psychiatry at the Drexel University College of Medicine and after completing his fellowship in addiction psychiatry at UMass, he remained as faculty in the Division of Addiction Psychiatry.
Dedicated to excellence, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Furthermore, he is board-certified through the American Board of Addiction Medicine, which provides assurance to the American public that Addiction Medicine physicians have the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and treat addiction.
Having remained actively involved in academia throughout his career, Dr. Naqvi is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He believes that the process of teaching helps one learn how to learn.
He has written several articles to combat the stigma associated with mental illnesses.
