Dr. Brodrick is an ophthalmologist, fellowship trained retina specialist and owner of Retina Specialists of San Antonio located at 303 E. Quincy St, Suite 100 in San Antonio, Texas. He launched his private practice in San Antonio in 2005, and has established several satellite offices in surrounding communities, which allowed him to bring quality retina care to a broader population. Furthermore, Dr. Brodrick was the founder of Boerne Vision Center prior to Dr. Susan Johnson taking over the practice in 2017. He is currently a visiting ophthalmologist and retina specialist with Boerne Vision Center in Boerne, Texas. His practice focuses on diseases and surgery of the retina, including macular holes and trauma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and retinal detachments, amongst many other conditions.

Dr. Brodrick received his medical degree in 1999 from University of Texas Medical School at Houston after completing a BS degree at Texas A&M University in 1988. He served his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas (2000-2003), followed by a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery conducted at Texas Retina Associates in Dallas, Texas (2003-2005). While there, he studied under the best retina surgeons in the world while receiving guidance from 11 of the most respected names in the field of vitreoretinal disease.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye. An ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in ophthalmology. The credentials include a degree in medicine, followed by a one-year internship then additional three years of residency training in ophthalmology. Following this, fellowship training in one of the ophthalmology subspecialties for one to two years.

Dr. Brodrick received the 2007 West Side Chamber of Commerce Doctoral Achievement Award for outstanding community service, and was recognized by Mayor Phil Hardberger. “He was recognized by the Commissioners Court of Bexar County and received an award from Nelson Wolff. He has also received a Certificate of Excellence by the State of Texas from State Senator Leticia Van De Putte. He was also recognized in Scene in S.A. as one of San Antonio’s top doctors”. Dr. Brodrick has been listed as one of the top retina specialists in America’s Top Ophthalmologists (2008 – present).
