Get to know Pediatrician Dr. George Philip Thevaos, who serves patients in Monroe, North Carolina.

A highly trained pediatrician, Dr. Thevaos is in practice at Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group – Monroe. He enjoys helping his patients and providing education on their health or development issues. He considers it a pleasure to take care of children and loves their resiliency.

In his two decades of practicing medicine, the doctor has gotten to see plenty of children grow up. He wants his patients and their parents to know that everything he does is with their best interest in mind. He loves being part of a practice that has a family atmosphere that patients benefit from.

Throughout his academic career, he graduated with his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995, and completed his residency in pediatrics at the Carolinas Medical Center in 1998.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Thevaos has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2014), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2014).

Outside of work, family and hobbies keep the doctor busy. He and his wife have two daughters with whom they enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants. When he gets time to himself he loves golfing and sings in his church choir.
