Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Joe M. Mawad, who serves patients in San Bernardino, California.

A determined obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Mawad is the Founder and President of Inland Empire Women's Center in San Bernardino, California. His focus is on providing the greatest patient experience. He is trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques that provide a safe and fast recovery for his patients, getting you back to your daily activities as quickly and pain free as possible.

The mission of Inland Empire Women's Center is to elevate women’s health care in their community. They want to be the premier provider of obstetrics and gynecology in the communities they serve. Every patient has individual needs and their goal is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care in an efficient and accountable manner.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Mawad received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the Staten Island University Hospital before coming to San Bernardino.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Among his other roles, he is on staff at St. Bernardine Medical Center and Community Hospital of San Bernardino, where he has been the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2013. He also serves on the Board of Director at Community Hospital of San Bernardino.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

In addition to English, Dr. Mawad is fluent in Arabic, Spanish, and French.
