Dr. Abdel-Megid is a board-certified rheumatologist providing services to the communities of Princeton, Monroe, Somerville, and Flemington at his private practice, Rheumatology Center of New Jersey. He is an expert in the management of a multitude of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
He also has specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and rheumatism, and has extensive experience with office orthopedic disorders, sports medicine, connective tissue disorders and interventional joint procedures.
A native of Egypt, Dr. Abdel-Megid earned his medical degree from the Cairo University Medical School in 1995, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the same educational venue in 2000. He then went on to serve as an orthopedic surgery fellow at the University of Rome for 2 years, before relocating to the United States, where he was a Visiting Fellow of orthopedic trauma surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in 2002, before completing a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at the University of Texas at Houston in 2003, and an advanced surgical training in foot and ankle surgery at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in 2004.
Wanting to further his education, he completed a residency in internal medicine at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in 2008, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. Finally, he completed his fellowship in rheumatology at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2010, before establishing his private practice.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Abdel-Megid is a proud member of the American College of Rheumatology, United Rheumatology, and the American Medical Association.
