A trusted obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Mejia is affiliated with Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. She specializes in minimally invasive robotic surgery, with a special interest in infertility and high risk obstetrics.
For more than 80 years, Shannon Medical Center has served Concho Valley and the surrounding region, growing with the community and serving its healthcare needs. The facility is licensed for 400 beds and provides a variety of clinical services to meet each patient’s needs. Its goal is to provide our patients with the most compassionate and efficient service while ensuring the highest quality care.
Instrumental in bringing robotic-assisted surgery to San Angelo, Dr. Mejia became the first female surgeon in the area to operate with the da Vinci system. She focuses on infertility and achieving pregnancy for patients in addition to a traditional OB/GYN practice.
Among her other roles, she is the Medical Director of Pregnancy Help Center and the Medical Director of the Laura Bush Foundation. In the past, she was the Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at San Angelo Community Hospital.
A graduate of Texas A&M University, Dr. Mejia earned her medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine in 2008. She then went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Mercer University School of Medicine in 2012.
Following her training, she attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
On a professional level, Dr. Mejia is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association. She is also a board member of the Rape Crisis Center, Cultural Affairs Council and a member of the Junior League.
