Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Nicola Pemberton, who serves patients in Union, New Jersey.
Dr. Pemberton is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, as well as benign adult and adolescent gynecology. She is the Medical Director of Artemis OB/GYN & The Birth Center of New Jersey in Union, New Jersey.
Her training includes general laparoscopic and robotic gynecology surgery for procedures such as myomectomy, hysterectomy, and ovarian pathology. She performs numerous in-office procedures, including endometrial ablation, cryosurgery, colposcopy, and cone biopsies.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Pemberton obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Miami before moving to the West Indies for two years to attend St. George’s University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada. For her third year of medical school, she did her clinical rotations in England, including neuroscience selective in the Czech Republic.
In the United States, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey, where she was recognized for her resident teaching and given a faculty position at Maimonides Medical Center. She also served as a clinical assistant professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Pemberton is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey and New York, she is affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and Overlook Medical Center.
