Dr. Williams is a careful and well-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He is one of the nation’s leaders in Robotic Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (RVATS) and a pioneer in using minimally invasive techniques in aggressive early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of lung cancer as well as cardiac surgery.

Founded in 1949, Mount Sinai Medical Center is the largest private independent not-for-profit teaching hospital in South Florida. Its Centers of Excellence combine technology, research, and academics to provide innovative and comprehensive care in cardiology, neuroscience, oncology, and orthopaedics.

Having performed more than 2,400 minimally invasive robotic thoracic procedures, Dr. Williams is one of the few surgeons in the U.S. with expertise in the field. The procedure typically involves two to four small openings between the ribs, as opposed to six-to 10- inch incisions that are customary with traditional thoracic surgery. Patients experience less pain, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, and a faster recuperation.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 1988. He completed both his general surgery and cardiothoracic surgical training at the State University of New York/Kings County Hospital Program. This included an additional year of designated specialized thoracic surgical training at the same educational venue.

With an unwavering commitment to his profession, Dr. Williams is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
