Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Dr. Gerry L. Sotomayor, who serves patients in Nashville, Tennessee.

A board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Sotomayor is the owner of Gynecology & Cosmetic Surgery Center of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. He provides comprehensive gynecologic care and cosmetic enhancement treatments for adults of all ages. He employs a holistic treatment approach to reproductive and sexual health problems. 

Services include well-woman exams, infertility treatments, hormone management, sexual dysfunction treatment, natural family planning, treatment for endometriosis, liposuction, and ThermiSmooth®. He is an expert in gynecology surgeries, body contouring procedures, nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation, and cellulite reduction treatments. 

Dr. Sotomayor is President/CEO of Brighton Clinical Research Associates in Atlanta, Georgia (2017 – Present), Graceful Contours LLC in Norcross, Georgia (2008 – Present), and Northlake Ob-Gyn PC in Norcross, Georgia (1985 – Present). He is also Founder/ Medical Director of Babies For Life Foundation (2001 – Present), as well as Medical Consultant/speaker for Ferring Pharmaceuticals (2011 – Present).

Dr. Sotomayor earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Universidad de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1976. He then attended medical school at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamòn, Puerto Rico, and graduated with his medical degree in 1980. He pursued a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Summa Health System in Cleveland and Akron, OH (1980 – 1984), and served as chief resident during his last year of residency (1983 – 1984).

Dr. Sotomayor obtained board-certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health. 

Dr. Sotomayor is a member of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, Birthright International, Georgia OBGYN Society, the Hispanic Health Coalition, the International College of Surgeons, the Nebraska Coalition for Ethical Research, MaterCare International, and the World Federation of Catholic Medical Associations.

He is also affiliated with Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout), Día de la Mujer Latina, and Order of the Arrow. In addition to English, Dr. Sotomayor speaks Spanish.
