Dr. Skicki II is a board-certified trauma and acute care surgeon & surgical intensivist with the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Division at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, seeing patients at Lancaster General Health Suburban Pavilion and Lancaster General Hospital.
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is a not-for-profit health system with a comprehensive network of care, including more than 300 primary-care and specialty physicians; outpatient and Urgent Care services; and four hospitals with a total of 786 licensed beds: Lancaster General Hospital, Women & Babies Hospital, Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital, and Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital.
As a trauma and acute care surgeon, Dr. Skicki II enjoys helping his patients and their families overcome acute illnesses and begin the road to recovery. He treats every patient as a partner as they work together to get home safely and prevent further trauma.
In addition to his clinical duties, he is a resident trainer for general surgery residents from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also the Director of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Informatics and Analytics and an EPIC Physician Builder.
Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Skicki II received a Bachelor of Science degree in both Biomedical Engineering (in Artificial Organs and Medical Device Design) and Biologic Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2013 and completed his residency training in general surgery at UPMC PinnacleHealth in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2018. He served as Chief Surgical Resident from 2016-2018.
Following residency, he underwent an additional one-year specialty training fellowship in surgical critical care at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in general surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical critical care through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
On a professional level, Dr. Skicki serves on the Clinical Medication Safety and Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) Committees, and is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American College of Chest Physicians.
His research interests include geriatric and homeless trauma, quality improvement in trauma surgery, and sedation/delirium in surgical critical care.

When not in the office, Dr. Skicki II enjoys spending his time cooking, running 5Ks, and long distance hiking and biking.
