Can you put braces on root canals and crowns?
Teeth that have had previous root canal therapy and crowns, for the most part, are completely fine to place braces on and do well with orthodontic treatment. If a tooth is sensitive or still has symptoms then it is best to wait until it is healed before trying to move it. I hope that helps. Dr. B READ MORE

Hi, If you are concerned about just two teeth and would like to move them we generally place braces on an entire arch to use the other teeth as anchorage to move those teeth into the ideal position. How long will my teeth hurt after braces?
Hi, the answer to this question is...it depends. Usually the adjustment period after your braces are placed is 7-10 days. However, you will likely not be "sore" for that long but will take that long to get used to and adjust to your new braces. I hope this helps. Dr. B READ MORE
Is there a toothpaste that's good for braces?
Any toothpaste you currently use is still good to use while you have braces. Sometimes I prescribe a toothpaste that has a higher fluoride content to help prevent decalcification (white spots) around the braces. However, the best way to prevent these permanent scars on your enamel is to drink water between meals, limit sugary drinks and snacks, and to brush and floss 3 times a day making sure your teeth are especially spotless before you go to bed at night. I hope this helps. Dr. B READ MORE
