Dr. Walter Calvin Damper, a board-certified physiatrist with a wealth of experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, is thrilled to announce his return to the Phoenix area to accept a full-time position in the medical community. With a profound dedication to enhancing patient functionality, Dr. Damper specializes in spinal injection procedures, electrodiagnostic studies, and comprehensive musculoskeletal medicine, catering to a diverse range of conditions affecting the brain, nerves, spine, bones, and muscles.
Dr.Damper earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from A. T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. His medical journey began with an internship at Chino Valley Medical Center in California, followed by a rigorous residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. In 2012, he further honed his skills as an interventional pain management fellow at Non-Surgical Orthopedics, P.C., solidifying his passion for non-invasive treatment options.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Damper is licensed to practice in multiple states, including Arizona, Illinois, New Hampshire, and New Mexico. His commitment to providing quality care across diverse regions reflects his dedication to patient well-being.

After a successful medical practice, Dr. Damper stepped away to focus on family when his son, Harrison, was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy in September 2020. During the pandemic, Harrison underwent a heart transplant, leading the family to make significant adjustments, including withdrawing their children from school and daycare to protect Harrison’s health.
For the past two and a half years, Dr. Damper worked as a locum tenens physician across several states, allowing the family to travel together during this challenging time. With his children now back in preschool and first grade, the Damper family is excited to embark on a new chapter filled with renewed hope and purpose.
In his personal life, Dr. Damper enjoys praising and glorifying Jesus, spending quality time with his wife and three boys, exploring ancient world religions, studying ancient civilizations, and appreciating scenic views and landscaping. His diverse interests reflect his commitment to personal growth and community enrichment.
As Dr. Damper reenters the Phoenix medical community, he brings with him not only his extensive clinical expertise but also a unique perspective shaped by his personal experiences. He is eager to continue his mission of providing compassionate care and fostering patient health and wellness.
