Dr. Ryutaro Hirose performs adult and pediatric liver, kidney and pancreas transplants. After graduating from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, he completed a general surgery residency, a Molecular Medicine fellowship and Transplant Surgery Fellowship. He joined the faculty at UCSF in 1999 and stayed there until 2023. He then moved to Seattle to become Chief of Transplant Surgery at the University of Washington.
