Through hands-on instruction, he educates fellow practitioners on CAD-CAM dentistry techniques, bone grafting, implant procedures, and sinus lifts, embodying his commitment to advancing dental education and excellence.
A native of Rome, New York, Dr. Messenger received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Harding University in 1987. He then graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1991.
To keep current with the ever-changing world of dentistry, Dr. Messenger obtains about 300 hours of continuing education a year, including advanced classes in CEREC, implants, and lasers. He also takes his entire staff to educational meetings and conferences to give them the tools they need to provide optimal care to patients.
In January of 2014, Dr. Messenger became certified in Botox, Dermal Fill, and Micro Threading. In March of that same year, he received his diplomate status from the International Dental Implant Association (DIDIA), symbolizing the highest level of competence in implant dentistry.
Among his dental affiliations, Dr. Messenger is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the Berkshire Dental Society, the International College of Oral Implantologists, World Clinical Laser Institute, and in the past has served as the vice president of the Academy of CAD-CAM Dentistry.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Messenger went on several missionary trips to the Dominican Republic where he placed advanced implants and bone grafting surgeries. Now, he visits at least twice a year and helped them to open a dental school by asking large dental companies to donate equipment.
In his personal life, Dr. Messenger lives with his supportive wife, Donna, in Clarksburg, Massachusetts. They have two adult children, Anna Marie who is also a dentist, and Zach. They have two pugs, two cats, two goats, three sheep, four miniature horses, and a pet pig.
During his leisure hours, Dr. Messenger enjoys spending time either at the pool or catching a film at the movies.
