A Houston native, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University, and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. She completed her residency in general surgery at the Baystate Medical Center, followed by a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a fellowship in plastic surgery at Beth Israel Lahey Health.
Distinguished as an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Khan is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Khan is an active member of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the American Federation for Medical Research, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Khan was selected for the second year in a row to serve on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Leadership Development Committee, as well as the ASPS Wellness Subcommittee.
Active in academia, she serves as an Associate Clinical Professor and Instructor of Surgery at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Her commitment to improving medical care in her field of study is evidenced by her many clinical innovations, patents, and publications.
