Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Saiqa Khan, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Khan is a highly trained plastic surgeon affiliated with Body By Ravi Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics in Houston, Texas. She is focused on women’s health issues and passionate about beauty from head to toe, including nonsurgical procedures.

Interested in facilitating the growth of confidence and empowerment in every aspect of a person’s life from personal relationships to professional, she performs procedures such as liposuction, facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and mommy-makeovers, among others.

“I strive to help my patients feel comfortable and cared for at every stage of the plastic surgery process. I encourage my patients to ask questions; in return, they can always expect honest answers and feedback. Open communication is one of the main keys to achieving the best results for each individual” expressed Dr. Khan.

Dr. Khan chose plastic surgery because she believes this is the most creative and innovative field with the most potential to empower patients. Her passion for plastic surgery was realized when she was able to combine her surgical skills with her unique talents and creativity as an artist to restore function and form, as well as a sense of wholeness and confidence that improves the lives of patients. The concept of physical and emotional healing through an operation or nonsurgical procedure, of setting a person free from their insecurities which hold them back, excites and inspires her.

A Houston native, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University, and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. She completed her residency in general surgery at the Baystate Medical Center, followed by a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a fellowship in plastic surgery at Beth Israel Lahey Health.

Distinguished as an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Khan is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Khan is an active member of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the American Federation for Medical Research, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Khan was selected for the second year in a row to serve on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Leadership Development Committee, as well as the ASPS Wellness Subcommittee.

Active in academia, she serves as an Associate Clinical Professor and Instructor of Surgery at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Her commitment to improving medical care in her field of study is evidenced by her many clinical innovations, patents, and publications.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Khan has been the recipient of the Joseph E. Murray MD Award (2015), Harvard 1st Place Basic Science Award – Excellence in Surgery Research (2015), Surgical Resident Teacher Recognition Award (2017), Teamwork and Accomplishment Recognition Award (2018), Golden Apple Resident Teacher of the Year Award (2018), and Outstanding Academic Achievement in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Award (2019).
