Platelet count 430?
Please do not worry unnecessarily. This is a mildly elevated platelet count. There can be many reasons for elevated platelet count. Does not mean you have cancer. Platelets can be elevated if you have iron deficiency some other inflammatory conditions. Your hematologist will do some tests to look into “secondary” causes of increased platelets. It is also possible that repeat count may be normal. Rarely, people can have “primary” cause like overproduction of platelets in the bone marrow. Even so, it is not something serious. It can be followed without treatment for years. Your hematologist will advise you on what needs to be done. Treatment could be as simple as taking a baby aspirin, but I would advise you to first talk to your hematologist and he or she will decide what is the best course of action. Once again, no need to worry. Anisa Hassan, M.D. READ MORE
