Throughout his academic career, Dr. Romero-Fischmann earned his medical degree from the Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca Facultad de Medicina in Bolivia in 1990. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida in 1999. He then went on to complete his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2003, before returning to Mount Sinai to complete his fellowship in sleep medicine in 2004.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
