Michael A. Liska, DDS has extensive knowledge of all aspects of dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, implant placement and full-mouth reconstruction. He believes in treating patients with respect and kindness at all times. He takes the time to listen to what they have to say and answer any questions they might have.
Patient comfort is of utmost importance and Dr. Liska uses state-of-the-art technology and procedures to make dental care not only efficient and accurate, but also gentle and comfortable.
Dr. Liska grew up in Falls City, Texas. He has two daughters, Carrie and Sarah, and two grandchildren, Ethan and Dylan, who live in the San Antonio area.
Dr. Liska graduated from Texas A& M University at Kingsville. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston.
While in dental school he was one of only 24 nationally selected students invited to be part of the “Advanced Modular Self Directed Curriculum Program,” which is an intensive doctoral training program offered nowhere else in the world, designed for students with a 4.0 grade point average in their undergraduate degrees.
From 2009 through 2012, Dr. Liska also completed an extensive amount of training with the American Dental Implant Association and he holds a Fellowship and Mastership in Oral Implantology.
After completing dental school, Dr. Liska served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Fort Hood, Texas where he gained specialty training and experience. Dr. Liska was rated in the top 5% of dentists in the US Army worldwide.
His dedication and skill earned him a training position at the Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, California. He was even offered advancement to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. but chose to begin his private practice in Pleasanton, Texas, serving the dental needs of the community while raising his family.
Dr. Liska has over 35 years of experience performing dental surgery, from simple to the most complex restorative challenges. He took his first bone grafting seminar in Miami through the American Dental Implant Association and was urged to take a mastership program. He completed this training in two years. He was later invited to instruct a group of doctors in Brazil where he taught dental implant procedures on live patients.
In 1998 Dr. Liska was nominated by the dental community for Texas Dentist of the Year. Only a few dentists are nominated each year out of the more than 5,000 dentists practicing in Texas. Additionally, he has received Official Recognition from the office of the Governor of Texas in 1994 and 1997 for his work in the Texas Public School System Campaign to prevent drug abuse, violence and illiteracy.
