Prior to launching Aspen Ridge ENT, Dr. Mawn worked as a Navy surgeon for two years at Camp Lejeune with the Marine Corps. Following his honorable discharge at the rank of Commander, he practiced in Virginia before relocating to Colorado. 

At present, he can be found on staff at St. Anthony Hospital, St. Anthony North Health Campus, St. Anthony North Medical Pavilion, St. Anthony Summit Medical Center, Porter Adventist Hospital, Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, and Avista Adventist Hospital.

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Mawn received his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia and served his internship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, the world’s largest naval base with over 100 home-ported ships, associated base personnel and their families. He then completed his residency at Walter Reed Army Hospital and Bethesda Naval Medical Center.

The doctor is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.

To boot, he is board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which was established in 1986 to improve the quality of medical and surgical treatment available to the public by examining for professional expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Mawn is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
