Back in 1965, following the completion of his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Zoology from Humboldt State University, Dr. Grove went on to pursue his studies in dentistry. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1969, his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree in Orthodontics from St. Louis University in 1971, and his Master of Science in Education (MSEd) from the University of Southern California in 1976. Years later, in 2004, he earned his Master of Science (MSc) degree from Donau University in Austria, studying Advanced Definitive Dentistry under Professor Slavicek, MD, DDS.
In his professional experience, Dr. Grove has served in private practice in Nevada; as an Assistant Professor / Clinic Director of Orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco; as an Associate Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine; as an Associate Professor of Orthodontics at the Roseman University Health Sciences; as an Assistant Professor at Western University School of Dental Medicine; at Vegas Valley Orthodontics in Las Vegas; and at Western Dental Services in California, Arizona, and Nevada.
A past President of the Northeastern Nevada Dental Society, he conceived and helped form the International Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Dentistry. He also helped to organize and establish the Dental Section of the Savitt Medical Library at the University of Nevada School of Medicine; and helped to conceive and organize the Cranio-Facial Pain and TMJ Dysfunction Clinic at the said establishment.
Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the Nevada Dental Association, and the Eastern Nevada Dental Society.
In addition to having conducted numerous presentations to various societies and associations, Dr. Grove has lectured in eight cities across the United States on the Slavicek Functional Occlusal Philosophy for Rocky Mountain Orthodontics. He has also made two presentations to Congress Studiengruppe Für Restaurative Zahnheilkunde (recognized as a German Association for Dental Excellence) at Karl Häupl Instituts in Dusseldorf, Germany & Donau University in Krems, Austria.
Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. As an orthodontist, Dr. Grove is responsible for identifying problems with the positioning of a patient’s teeth and with their oral development. Additionally, he has been honored by Who’s Who in California, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who Professionals and Executives in the World, Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, and Best Dentists in the United States.
Happily married for over five decades, Dr. Grove and his wife, Kathy, reside in Elko. His hobbies and interests include science, genealogy, history, archeology, computers, distance learning, internet-based patient treatment, and airway breathing swallowing (medical-dental based).
