Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Michael Nussbaum, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.

A board-certified pediatrician specializing in eating disorders, Dr. Nussbaum is Division Chief of Pediatrics at ProHEALTH Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine. He operates out of the following offices in New York: Wading River, Port Jefferson, Shirley, and Holbrook.

ProHEALTH is a premier provider of healthcare services, offering complete care for all of their patients’ health needs. This includes primary care, urgent care, more than 80 types of specialty care, outpatient surgery, and imaging services.

Academically, Dr. Nussbaum received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. After finishing his residency in pediatrics at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, he went on to do a fellowship in adolescent medicine at the same educational venue.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, Dr. Nussbaum can be found on staff at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Mather Hospital, and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Among his various accolades, Dr. Nussbaum has been the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015, 2014, 2012), Patients’ Choice Award (2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2015).
