Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Schultz graduated with her medical degree from The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in 2004. She then went on to serve her residencies at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic in 2005 and 2009, respectively. 

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Alongside her clinical role, Dr. Schultz serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
