Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Stanislaus Opalacz, who serves patients throughout the State of Connecticut.
A seasoned gastroenterologist, Dr. Opalacz joined Middlesex Gastroenterology Associates in July of 1988, was welcomed as a Partner in 1990, and became the Managing Partner in 2003. He provides care for patients with a wide range of digestive health conditions, and has special training in endoscopy and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography).
A proud affiliate of Middlesex Hospital, Middlesex Gastroenterology Associates has served Greater Middlesex County for over 30 years, with offices in Middletown, Essex, Marlborough, Madison, and Southington, Connecticut. Their team of board-certified physicians specialize in the diagnosis and management of various digestive and liver diseases. Their state-of-the-art facilities are designed to provide their patients with treatment options tailored to meet their needs and comfort.
A native of Middletown, Connecticut, Dr. Opalacz received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University. He graduated with his medical degree from the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and completed his residency at St. Mary’s Hospital. Finally, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Waterbury Hospital Health Center/Yale University School of Medicine.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Middlesex County IPA, Dr. Opalacz is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Contracting Committee with the integrated Hospital-IPA management services organization. He is also a Corporator with Liberty Bank and is active with the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce as well as numerous community and civic organizations.
