Get to know Emergency Room Physician Dr. Noah Elvis Gutierrez, who serves the population of New York.

Dr. Gutierrez is an emergency room physician who currently practices with Olean General Hospital. The Olean General Hospital (OGH) campus has been expanding through the generosity of community patrons to accommodate the growing needs of the region. The campus includes 186 patient rooms, together with comprehensive patient, administrative and physician services and accommodations to meet the diagnostic, treatment, administrative and educational needs of its patients and medical staff. OGH is a member of Kaleida Health, Buffalo, NY, and part of Upper Allegheny Health System

In regards to his education, Dr. Gutierrez graduated with his medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University, he then completed his internship with the Somerset Medical Center and a residency with the New York Medical College. Furthering his training he completed his fellowship with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Howard University. He is currently licensed to practice in New York, and was previously licensed in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Indiana. Due to his expertise in the field he has been awarded the Patient Safety Excellence Award in 2017 and 2019.

Emergency Medicine is the branch of medicine concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. As first-line providers, emergency physicians manage patients of all ages with undifferentiated ailments of all types. They are primarily responsible for initiating resuscitation and stabilization and beginning investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat illnesses in the acute phase. Emergency physicians generally practice in hospital emergency departments, pre-hospital settings via emergency medical services, and intensive care units, but may also work in primary care settings such as urgent care clinics. Emergency physicians may subspecialize in disaster medicine, medical toxicology, ultrasonography, critical care medicine, hyperbaric medicine, sports medicine, palliative care, or aerospace medicine.
