Get to know Dentist Dr. Cherie Atkins, who serves patients in Roswell, Georgia.

Dr. Atkins, affectionately known as Dr. A, is the lead dentist at Flamingo Dental Escape in Roswell, Georgia, which she established in 2023. 

She and her team are committed to exceeding patients’ expectations with top-notch dental care and exemplary personal service in a relaxing atmosphere. They want each visit to create an enjoyable memory with the help of beautiful decor, warm neck pillows, warm blankets, aromatherapy, and Relax VR eyewear. 

At Flamingo Dental Escape, Dr. A’s vision is to create a dental office where it is more than an appointment, it is an experience to be the Disney of dentistry. Entering Disney World one can easily forget about the world beyond what’s around them – it’s an escape from reality. Dr. A chose the name Flamingo Dental Escape because flamingos appear elegant and stand out from the crowd. Flamingos can even bring on thoughts of the Bahamas and Florida, which are both great escapes from reality. 

Striving to help alleviate the anxiety that sometimes comes along with going to the dentist, Dr. A believes the name alone, Flamingo Dental Escape, helps with that. Genuine concern for each patient and their oral health, along with meticulous attention to detail, make for a dental experience like no other. 

Academically, Dr. A graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University in 2002, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2007. She then went on to perform a General Practice Residency at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in 2008.

As a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Dr. A can provide the complete esthetic make over, from veneers to botox and facial fillers, believing that a beautiful smile is more than just teeth.

In addition, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, and Strathmore’s Who’s Who.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries, create beautiful smiles, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

Among Dr. Atkins’ various accolades include Best Dentistry Award by Best Dentistry (2022, 2023) and Smile Transformation by Top Doc (2023).
