From the early age of six when his same-age cousin had to have open-heart surgery, he knew medicine was his passion. While waiting, along with his parents and family to make sure his playmate was going to live, the doctor asked him what he wanted to become, and he answered a heart doctor. As the Founder of Ashchi Heart & Vascular Center in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Ashchi treats patients with heart and vascular diseases with the expertise, care, and compassion that each one of them deserves. Among his academic appointments, Dr. Ashchi serves as an Instructor at Nova Southeastern University, College of Health Care Sciences’ Physician Assistant Program, and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Back in 1989, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1993, followed by his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine in 1996. He also completed extra months of training in vascular and endovascular medicine training at Lenox Hill Hospital, Arizona Heart Institute, and Milwaukee Hospital, as well as a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospital in 1997.
With regard to his noteworthy accomplishments, Dr. Ashchi is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

Majdi Ashchi, DO, attended the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and received his medical degree in 1989. Furthermore, he conducted his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (1989-1993), followed by his cardiovascular disease medicine fellowship at the Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine (1993-1996). In addition, he completed additional training in vascular and endovascular medicine at Arizona Heart Institute, Milwaukee Hospital, and Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Ashchi is also fellowship-trained in interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut/ Hartford Hospital (1996-1997).
