Get to know Family Physician Dr. Amrit Thandi, who serves patients in Cypress, Texas.

Dr. Thandi is a trusted family physician who provides primary care for the entire family. She currently practices at North Cypress Family Clinic and is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress in Texas.

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress, a campus of HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, is a 163-licensed bed, general acute care hospital. It provides comprehensive services utilizing the latest in medical technology and equipment. The hospital also employs well-respected area physicians and aims to provide an upscale five-star hotel-like ambiance with the comfort of those they care for in mind. 

Highlights of the specialized care at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress include: 20-bed unit ICU; robotic-assisted surgery technology; orthopedic care, including joint replacement surgery, Cancer Center; advanced wound care services using hyperbaric medicine; and advanced breast cancer screening and imaging.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Thandi graduated with her medical degree from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in India in 1997. After relocating to the United States, she performed her internship at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. This was followed by a residency in family medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Achieving excellence in family medicine, she is board-certified through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Having been working with lasers since 1999, Dr. Thandi served as a Luminary Advisor for Alma Lasers Inc. She also served for the FDA approval site for accent laser since 2000.

To advance her professional efforts, she remains an active member of the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
