Dr. Brad Anstadt, of Buffalo Grove, IL, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been in private practice for 31 years in Melrose Park, IL. Yes, the corneas can be deprived of oxygen if contact lenses are worn continuously. This can lead to irritation, swelling with blurred vision, and possible infections.
