Get to know Gynecologic Oncologist & Gynecologist Dr. Steven R. Poliakoff, who serves patients in South Miami and Miami Beach, Florida.

With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Poliakoff is a gynecologic-oncologist & gynecologist who is currently serving patients at his private practice in South Miami and Miami Beach, Florida. There, he offers his patients from the United States and around the world a variety of state-of-the-art, customized treatments to manage gynecologic issues. He also offers personalized precision medicine based on family history and genetic testing, as well as stem cell therapy and aesthetic treatments for women using the most advanced gynecologic tools.

Dr. Poliakoff serves as the Executive Medical Director of the Women’s Cancer Research Foundation (WCRF). The mission of the WCRF is to improve the cure rates of women with gynecologic cancer through innovative clinical research.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Dr. Poliakoff went on to complete his internship, residency, and fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed an additional fellowship at the University of Miami, where he also served as an instructor and assistant professor in their division of gynecologic oncology. In addition to his extensive scientific and medical education, Dr. Poliakoff earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami Business School.

Dr. Poliakoff is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. 

Dr. Poliakoff is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and offers continuing certification to OB-GYNS in the United States and Canada. Board certification is a voluntary process for those physicians who choose to pursue certification.

Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer. A gynecologic oncologist, like Dr. Poliakoff, is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers that are located on a woman’s reproductive organs.
