After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Dr. Poliakoff went on to complete his internship, residency, and fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed an additional fellowship at the University of Miami, where he also served as an instructor and assistant professor in their division of gynecologic oncology. In addition to his extensive scientific and medical education, Dr. Poliakoff earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami Business School.

Dr. Poliakoff is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. 

Dr. Poliakoff is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and offers continuing certification to OB-GYNS in the United States and Canada. Board certification is a voluntary process for those physicians who choose to pursue certification.
