In addition to her private practice responsibilities, she maintains privileges at several area hospitals, including MedStar Washington Hospital Center (on the medical board), MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (Vice-President of the Medical Staff and board member), and Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center. She is also the Medical Director of the Fresenius Kidney Center in Hyattsville, Maryland and directs their first stand-alone Home Dialysis center in the DMV area. 

Back in 1986, Dr. Jamieson graduated with her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in nephrology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 1989 and 1992, respectively. 

After a few years as a teaching practitioner on the MedStar Washington Hospital Center staff, she went into private practice, where she established a successful nephrology practice located in the District of Columbia. Her practice has grown to include two other physicians as Metro Renal Associates.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Jamieson is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes. 

Dr. Jamieson still finds the time to assist the teaching staff for internal medicine residents and medical students at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and others. Her excellence in teaching and patient care has awarded her recognition in The Washingtonian where she was voted one of the Top Nephrologists in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
