With over 60 years of experience in his field, he provided exceptional care to his patients within his own private practice, Gordon Fishman Eye Physicians of Michigan, in Troy, Michigan. In addition to his affiliation with DMC Sinai Grace Hospital and Detroit Receiving Hospital, he also served as a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan from 1965 until 1978.
Back in 1955, Dr. Fishman earned his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Pursuing advanced medical training, he completed a residency with the Kresge Eye Institute, also in Detroit.
Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The mission of the ABO is to serve the public by improving the quality of ophthalmic practice through a process of certification and Maintenance of Certification that fosters excellence and encourages continual learning.
