Having practiced locally for over 30 years, Dr. Pflanzer is an active member of Texas Children’s Hospital, Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Houston Methodist Hospital, and Methodist Charlton Medical Center. In association with the Methodist Hospital system, he also provides in practice allergy training to many doctors in the residency program.
Originally from New York City, he earned his medical degree from Catholic University of Louvain, Faculty of Medicine in Belgium in 1967. His postgraduate education included an internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Montreal Children’s Hospital in Montreal, Canada. His residency in pediatrics was performed at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in New York, and his residency in pediatric allergy & immunology was performed at the renowned Roosevelt Hospital Allergy Institute in New York City.
A member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, Dr. Pflanzer is board-certified in allergy & immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The ABAI establishes qualifications and examines physicians to become recognized specialists in allergy and immunology. There are only 3 board certified allergy & immunology specialists in all of Southern New Mexico.
