Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Arvinder J. Sachdev, who serves patients in Morristown, Tennessee.

One of the most experienced gastroenterologists in the United States with more than 50 years of clinical experience, Dr. Sachdev sees patients at his private practice – Digestive Disease Centers of Tennessee – and has impacted countless lives throughout his extensive career. He has completed more than 75,000 upper endoscopies and colonoscopies with outstanding clinical outcomes and is one of the nation’s most proficient hepatologists specializing in novel ways to treat hepatitis C. His clinical interests span the entire breadth of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Back in 1969, he earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hahnemann University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Louisville at Kentucky.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Sachdev is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

Widely recognized for his clinical work, he has presented at both national and international meetings, and has been on faculty at leading academic institutions including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the University of Toronto, Wellesley Hospital.

On a more personal note, Dr. Sachdev has been happily married to his wife for more than 48 years and is a proud father. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going on walks in his neighborhood, reading, and playing with his grandchildren.
