He has completed more than 75,000 upper endoscopies and colonoscopies with outstanding clinical outcomes and is one of the nation’s most proficient hepatologists specializing in novel ways to treat hepatitis C. His clinical interests span the entire breadth of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Back in 1969, he earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hahnemann University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Louisville at Kentucky.
