  • How often should a pregnant woman go to the chiropractor?

Hello, When you are pregnant, depending how far along you are in your pregnancy, you are "kind of late to the game" so to speak. In my experience, giving birth is a natural process and it should be done with relative ease. The complication comes in when the woman's (mom's) pelvic integrity is compromised. As the weeks pass, the amount of weight dispersed throughout the pelvis becomes greater and greater. This is why it is important if a couple is actively seeking to get pregnant that her pelvis stability is the best it can be. In other words, no pain, no sciatica, minimal to no muscle tension / strain through her low back, and minimal to no hamstring tension. This is optimal of course, not everyone achieves this before conception but this is of course ideal. If a woman finds out that she and her mate are expecting, get in ASAP to see your chiropractor to make sure that your pelvis is together in all ways possible. As the weeks pass and baby grows, the ligaments become under greater strain. IF the pelvis is torqued or strained other than in a normal presentation, now mom has to suffer tension of not only baby weight, growth but also her abnormal biomechanics due to her pregnancy weight that is absolutely necessary for growth of child. This drastically helps with delivery, the labor time is normally less than 12 hours even for first time pregnancy. Hope this information helps you. Dr. Jim M. Weber Quantum Chiropractic READ MORE

  • Is it bad to go to the chiropractor too often?

Hello 33 y/o male, In short, yes, it is bad to go to the chiropractor too often. Why, you may ask? Because so many chiros are saying, "See you tomorrow"? Frankly, in my opinion, it's because they care more about making a dollar than fixing people. I have a 24-hour guarantee for my services because if I do my job, my patients should be feeling better. Correct? Now, if a patient had just fallen down off a ladder, down stairs, etc? Then sometimes more than one visit is necessary to address the issue. For instance, when patients were sick with a cold or flu, I would see them in the morning and have them come back in the evening if they are super bad because adjustments support lymph drainage and immune activity. For biomechanics, too much adjusting places greater stress on the ligaments and does not allow them to heal. Adjust them once, and let them rest for 3-7 days depending upon their case. Majority of the time, 95% of my cases, I see patients once a week. Hope this answers your question. Sincerely, Dr. Jim M. Weber READ MORE

  • Is ice or heat better after chiropractic adjustment?

It depends on the case. If it is an acute injury or after the adjustment you feel a lot of heat coming off the area then ice is the best remedy. If it is a chronic injury, heat is the best remedy. READ MORE

  • Why does my ankle feel like it needs to pop but won't?

Hello, Ankle issues vary greatly because if you are athletic it could be as simple as it is misaligned and needs to be adjusted. Secondly, you could have a tibia or fibula (knee region) issue that is causing greater strain in the ligaments of the ankle. Lastly, believe it or not, cranial or upper cervical issues can cause ankles to be unstable. Unfortunately, without doing the tests, it's hard to pinpoint, however, there is 3 possible scenarios. There are definitely more but those are the most common. Dr. Jim M. Weber READ MORE

  • Can chiropractors help with ankle dislocation?

Hello 38-year-old female, Chiropractors can work with all sorts of ankle issues. If the ankle is completely dislocated, then I would suggest you seek emergency care to make sure it is set accordingly. However, a subluxation which is defined as "less than a dislocation" is easily corrected by most chiropractors. Sincerely, Dr. Jim M. Weber READ MORE

  • How do I know if my knee is out of alignment?

Hello from Dr. Weber, To the 34-year-old female, you may suspect your knee is out of alignment first and foremost if it is painful while moving or kneeling or extending but when you are at rest i.e. not in motion the pain subsides or goes away completely. This could be of course worry or concern for further analysis hence the same course is also possible if you have a meniscal tear. This is why when you go to your doctor he/she may order further diagnostic imaging or if he/she is skilled in orthopedic testing the doctor may perform some orthopedic tests and movements to further assess whether a tear is more likely or it is a subluxation. An overall determinant that increases the potential for a tear is if you had any type of trauma to it, fall, impact, quick turn, etc. if you just woke up and it was hurting then there is a greater likelihood that it just needs a tune up from your chiropractor. I hope this helps. Thank you! Sincerely, Dr. Jim M. Weber READ MORE

Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Jim M. Weber, who serves patients in Sacramento, California.

Not your typical “whack & crack” chiropractor, Dr. Weber tends to patients of all ages at Quantum Chiropractic in Sacramento, California. He practices alongside his wife and colleague, Dr. Pauline Asahara, offering a comprehensive approach to health and wellness.

Whether a patient is experiencing back pain, feeling out of alignment, or are just looking to improve their health, Quantum Chiropractic offers many different services to fit specific needs. Dedicated to staying on top of the latest chiropractic tools and treatments, it is the practice’s goal to create a friendly and professional atmosphere that patients can rely on for all of their chiropractic needs.

“I especially enjoy working with chronic cases that other doctors have said the words, “You will have to live with this…” I wish I could say I specialize in one particular area/region of the body but I cannot because all parts are connected and work together. If you, the reader, are seeing a specialist for some health related issue, then there is at least a 50% chance that they are missing a critical component to your health” expressed Dr. Weber.

Born and raised in Dittmer, Missouri on his family’s dairy farm, he had never been to a chiropractic office before starting chiropractic school. He knew he wanted to help people since he was young. After starting his first trimester of chiropractic school, he knew he was in the right place because he could help people with his bare hands and personal knowledge.

While in his third trimester at Logan College of Chiropractic, Dr. Weber began his intense study of Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT). In 2010, he received basic certification in SOT from the Sacro Occipital Research Society International.

Through additional studies outside the basic chiropractic curriculum, he received certification as an Internal Health Specialist and certification as a Cranial and Pediatric Practitioner. While in school, he attended seminars advancing his knowledge and understanding in functional blood chemistry, brain and neurotransmitter evaluation & functional endocrinology.

In 2019, Dr. Weber released his book, “Bringing It All Together: The Chiropractic Perspective for Better Structural and Functional Health.” He wrote it to help individuals understand what a doctor of chiropractic can offer patients, not just in structural correction, but also for long-term wellness.

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, vertigo and a long list of other ailments and conditions. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself naturally, without the use of medication or surgery.

On a more personal note, at 24 years of age, Dr. Weber ran his first lab test on himself and found out he was insulin resistant. He could not believe it – he had unwanted weight gain, craved sweets after meals, and had a very difficult time falling asleep at night. All of this in comparison to his previous 20 years where he was active in soccer, wrestling, martial arts, and more.

As with most blood sugar issues, an added complication is an imbalanced hormonal system which led to impotence. Through diet and lifestyle modification along with appropriate supplementation from Dr. Datis Kharrazian’s Apex nutritional supplements, Dr. Weber was able to start seeing improvements in his performance in less than one month. After approximately three months of consistent care, his lab values began to normalize and after six months on the program, he had completely resolved all of his issues.
