He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Surgery at Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center. 

A firm believer that it is necessary to have an excellent educational background in order to be a leader in the surgical field, Dr. Albaran graduated with his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1991. He then went on to perform his residency in general surgery and his surgical research fellowship at Detroit Medical Center.

Following his training, he attained board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
