Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Jennifer R. Gilby, who serves patients in St. Petersburg, Florida.
An established obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Gilby sees patients at her private practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. Her special interests are in management of female pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence. She incorporates many modalities including pelvic floor rehabilitation and strengthening exercises, as well as minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic repairs for incontinence and prolapse.
A proponent in the field of natural hormone replacement therapy, she is also very interested in treating perimenopausal and menopausal women to help relieve the adverse effects of declining hormones. She performs minimally invasive in office procedures such as Nexplanon, ESSURE, and Novasure Endometrial Ablation.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Gilby graduated from the University of Florida in 1991, and earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1996. She completed residency under Dr. William Spellacy at the University of South Florida from 1996-2000, and was Administrative Chief Resident in her last year. She is also extensively trained in daVinci Robotics having attended the Master’s Course in Gynecology, the Advanced Sacrocolpopexy, and the Master’s Course in Sacrocolpopexy.
Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she is an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society, the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and the North American Menopause Society. Furthermore, she is a SottoPelle Certified Physician who studied and trained under the direction of Dr. Gino Tutera, and maintains certification in Advanced daVinci Robotic Surgery and Single Incision Robotic Surgery.
With a passion for teaching, Dr. Gilby currently serves as adjunct faculty at the Bayfront Medical Center Residency, and is actively involved with teaching the OB/GYN residents.
