Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Jorge Aguilar-Zanatta, who serves patients throughout the State of Connecticut.
Dr. Aguilar-Zanatta is a fellowship-trained psychiatrist whose interests include psychosomatic medicine, addiction medicine, HIV psychiatry, and trauma surgery psychiatry. He is currently the Director of Consultation Psychiatry at Danbury Hospital & an Attending Clinician at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital.
At Yale University School of Medicine, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor, instructing fellows, residents, nurse practitioners, and medical students. He is also a Consultation Liaison of Psychiatry at Nuvance Health.
After earning his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados, Dr. Aguilar-Zanatta relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in New York City, and his fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Subsequently, he joined Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Department of Psychological Medicine as a Consult Psychiatrist for the Behavioral Intervention Team and Consult Psychiatry Service. In addition, he served as an HIV Psychiatry Attending at the Nathan Smith Clinic. He also provided general psychiatric services at Yale’s Primary Care Clinic, co-led the Response Team and De-Escalation Sub-Committee, as well as provided consultation to the Prevention and Management of the Disruptive Patient Initiative.
With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
