“One of the main reasons I went into primary care and stayed there is because of the opportunity to build wonderful connections with patients. You sit, you talk and get to know someone, unlike surgery where after it’s done, you wrap up and may not see the patient again. There are strong connections that I have built with my patients over the years; they’ve become friends and like family. That human connection, that bond is priceless” stated Dr. Shali.
Tri-City Primary Care is built on the experience of exceptional physicians skilled at caring for patients with a wide variety of health problems, from the common cold to chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure. The physicians work in partnership with top-rated specialists to deliver all-encompassing treatments to help keep their patients healthy.
Born in Iraq, Dr. Shali graduated with her medical degree from the University of Baghdad College of Medicine in 1992. She then relocated to the United States, performing her residency in internal medicine at Ascension Providence/MSUCHM in 2002.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
On a mission to help as many cancer patients and their loved ones as possible, Dr. Shali feels a particular affinity with her oncology patients, especially because of her unique background that put her on the path toward cancer care.
Her journey began many years ago when she lost her father to cancer. That devastating event led to her lifelong goal of helping as many families and individuals as she can to improve their odds against this illness.
In connecting with people by speaking from her heart, the idea for her book - “Teaming Up Against Cancer: Simple, Powerful Ways to Beat the Odds and Take Your Life Bac” - was born. Her mother was also struck by cancer, which has increased her determination to pursue her mission all the more.
Speaking on the topics of intuition and nutrition, Dr. Shali brings palpable resilience, authenticity, and positivity to live and virtual stages. She believes being connected to yourself is vital to overall well-being.
