A graduate of The Sapienza University of Rome, Dr. Loffreda-Mancinelli went to complete his residency in anesthesia and critical care medicine at the Catholic University in Rome. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed an additional residency in anesthesia at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in obstetric anesthesia at the same educational venue. He also holds a Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University. 

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure and temperature, anesthesiologists also measure the patient’s respiration.

As an expert in quality in healthcare, Dr. Loffreda-Mancinelli has been a guest speaker both nationally and internationally. He is also the author of numerous lectures, publications, and presentations.
