Get to know Emergency Medicine Physician Dr. Clifford Chapin, who serves patients in Cloquet, Minnesota. 

Dr. Chapin is an emergency medicine physician who is affiliated with Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet, Minnesota. Dr. Chapin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in animal studies from Cornell University in 1980. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1986. Dr. Chapin also holds a medical degree from the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont in 1997. After graduating from medical school, he went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Dr. Chapin is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Emergency medicine physicians care for unscheduled and undifferentiated patients of all ages. Their primary job functions are to resuscitate or stabilize patients and refer them to the appropriate medical departments.
