Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Cynthia Pfeiffer, who serves patients in Van Nuys, California.

An authority in her field and excellent board-certified emergency physician with more than ten years experience, Dr. Pfeiffer is affiliated with Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California as well as several other hospitals in the Los Angeles area.

Dr. Pfeiffer completed her residency in emergency medicine at Detroit Medical College in Michigan. She then returned to practice emergency medicine in her hometown of Los Angeles. Dr. Pfeiffer’s extensive trauma experience and skills have earned her an exceptional reputation also working as a medical expert witness in emergency medicine. Dr. Pfeiffer also has years of experience and training in sports medicine currently serving as the team trauma physician for the Los Angeles Kings NHL hockey team since 2015 and ringside physician for boxing and mixed martial arts. 

Emergency medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Dr. Pfeiffer has an enduring passion for her profession as a trauma physician and in 2016 was nominated by Emergent Medical Associates as Physician of the Year.  Dr. Pfeiffer has received various awards over the years since then recognizing her physician service excellence.  

Despite the undeniable challenges with the COVID pandemic, Dr. Pfeiffer continued to work on the front lines, and was honored by the Consulate General of Canada for her contribution to the COVID-19 response in 2020.
