A seasoned neurologist, Dr. Gutierrez is in practice at the Orlando Health Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center. She has over 20 years of clinical experience with multiple sclerosis (MS) and has held leadership roles with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She has also been the principal investigator for many research trials related to MS.

The Orlando Health Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center brings together experts from a wide variety of specialties — including neurologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists and more – to create and deliver a holistic care plan focused on patients’ unique needs.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Gutierrez earned her medical degree from East Central University in the Dominican Republic. Her extensive post-graduate training includes a residency in adult psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center; a residency in neurology at Louisiana State University (LSU), New Orleans; a fellowship in child psychiatry at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital; and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the LSU School of Medicine.

With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Board of Neuromuscular Medicine. She also is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS), and Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).

In her professional experience, she was a founding member of the ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic at LSU Health Science Center in 2010, working collaboratively with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and ALS Association providing care to patients and their families. In addition, she was involved in research with the North Eastern ALS Society and as a member of the ALS Clinic at the New Orleans VA Clinic.
