Dr. Rashid is a licensed and board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist who believes in a multidimensional approach towards psychiatric illnesses, which aims to address not only the clinical aspect of an individual’s care but also its indirect sociological consequences. She sees patients at Clear Creek Psychiatry in Houston, Texas.
Clear Creek Psychiatry is a dedicated adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry practice providing comprehensive services for the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of psychiatric illnesses. “It is our goal for patients to leave our office feeling better after each visit, confident that their suffering will be alleviated and their life will be restored” as stated by their mission statement.
The doctor’s interests include ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, autism spectrum disorders, as well as anxiety and mood disorders, including depression and bipolar illness. She also has an interest in cross generational conflicts and acculturation issues in minority populations.
As for her academic career, Dr. Rashid earned her Medical degree from Dow Medical College in 1996. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her residency in adult psychiatry and her fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at the Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, New York in 2009 and 2011, respectively. She worked in the capacity of attending physician in psychiatry at Syracuse Veterans Hospital before moving to Houston.
Thereafter, she followed her passion for teaching at Baylor College of Medicine and joined Texas Children’s Hospital as an Attending Physician and Consultant Psychiatrist, where she also served as the Director of Transplant Psychiatry. Currently, she holds a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine.
In addition to being a member of the Texas Medical Association, Dr. Rashid is board-certified in psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders.
